Is it a bird? Is it a plane?

No it’s Super Heroes! This is the learning theme for this week. We have been listening to the stories about Supertato and how he helps the other vegetables.

This has led to discussions about healthy foods and what is good to eat and which foods are good as a treat.

We have been drawing our super heroes and writing their super hero names and what their special super power is.

We have dressed up in super hero outfits and used our imaginations, thinking of great stories!

In our outside area we have had a super hero training centre, where we have been doing exercises to keep us fit and healthy. This is when we do our push ups.

This week the letter sounds we have learnt are  ‘qu’ ‘sh’ and ‘ch’.

We have practised reading the tricky words all, are and they.

Happy New Year!

Welcome back to school and what a busy time we have had! We have been making stained glass window biscuits like the windows in our church. We called them our prayer biscuits and said what we were thankful for. Everyone enjoyed baking.

We also wrote prayers and thanked God for many different things.

In Maths we have been looking at patterns. Patterns are all around us and we are now very good at knowing what comes next in a repeating pattern.

Because it has been cold this week, we have been thinking of Winter. In our outside area we have had big ice blocks with toys inside  and we have been problem solving, working out how to melt the ice .This has been great fun!
The set of books called, ‘Supertato’ by Sue Hendra are what we have been reading  this week. We have been learning all the different names of  vegetables.

The tricky words we have been learning are,  ‘they ‘ ‘my ‘  and ‘you’.

The letter sounds we have been learning are’y”x’ ‘z’.

We all wish you a happy and heathy year ahead.
